The Hyundai Aslan chosen as Safest Car in S. Korea

Hyundai Motor’s luxury sedan Aslan has been picked as the safest car of the year in South Korea.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on Tuesday that the Aslan received 97-point-three points, the highest among 12 cars including six imported models.

The ministry said the Aslan received high marks for its active hoods capable of protecting pedestrians in the event of a collision.

Infiniti’s Q50 compact executive sedan and Ssangyong Motor’s Tivoli came in second and third, respectively.

The ministry said that the average point totals of the tested cars increased to 66 points from 57 in 2013.
