Rights Group Using Drone to Send Information into N. Korea

A South Korean civic group on North Korean human rights said Thursday that since April it has been secretly sending outside information into the North using a drone.

The president of the group "No Chain," Jung Gwang-il, a North Korean defector himself, spoke to reporters in New York on Thursday before attending a UN Security Council meeting on the North's human rights violations.

Jung said his group was sending some two thousand USBs carried on drones every month from China.

This is the first known case of drones being used to carry information into the reclusive regime.

Previously, activists groups used various methods including balloons to send hard disks, mobile phones and other gadgets into North Korea.
