Two Koreas Continue Talks on Separated Families, Geumgang Tour

High-level inter-Korean government talks that were adjourned Friday night have resumed Saturday.

South and North Korean delegates met at the Gaeseong Industrial Complex in North Korea at around 10:40 a.m. to begin the chief delegates' meeting.

The first meeting went on for about 40 minutes. After an adjournment of about 4 hours, the two sides resumed the meeting at 3:30 p.m.

Unification Ministry spokesman Jeong Joon-hee said that on Friday the two sides had exchanged views on key issues based on which they will continue to coordinate stances on Saturday.

On Friday, the two sides held a general meeting and two rounds of talks between the chief delegates but failed to see eye to eye on the agenda items.

Seoul is believed to have put priority on resolving the issue of families separated by the Korean War while Pyongyang is focused on resuming the South Korean tour program to the North's Mount Geumgang resort.
