The Bank of Korea will seek to jointly build an Asia-wide ATM network with major Asian countries including China and Japan.
 
The Bank of Korea said Monday that the Asian Payment Network, composed of electronic payment transaction agencies, recently proposed the measure.
 
The central bank will work on the project with the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute.
 
A region-wide ATM network is expected to lower fees for customers who withdraw cash from other countries.
