The market value of bio and health care shares on the South Korean bourse marked the largest growth over the past four years.
The Korea Exchange (KRX) said on Sunday that between late 2011 and November this year, 15 out of the total 18 business categories on the Korean bourse witnessed their market value increase.
The market cap of bio and health care shares increased from ten-point-23 trillion won at the end of 2011 to 28-point-53 trillion won at the end of November this year, jumping 179 percent over the period.
The ratio of bio and health care stocks on the KOSPI also rose from zero-point-98 percent of the total in 2011 to two-point-27 percent this year.
The market value of nonmetallic mineral shares marked the second largest growth of 130 percent over the period, followed by precision medical products, food and service industries.
Meanwhile, steel and metal shares saw their market value decrease 33-point-seven percent over the period.
