Financial Authorities Inspect Market Ahead of Fed Policy Meeting

Financial authorities met Wednesday to monitor the domestic market before an expected interest rate hike in the United States.

The Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service looked into possible weaknesses in South Korean financial markets.

Financial authorities believe an interest rate hike by the U.S. Federal Reserve could have an adverse impact on South Korea's corporate bond market. This could lead to difficulties for companies in securing funds.

The Fed's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will hold its next meeting on December 15 and 16.
