Survey: Young Adult Chinese Possess Greater Entrepreneurial Spirit than Koreans

A new report suggests fewer South Korean young adults have entrepreneurial spirit than their Chinese counterparts.

The Institute for International Trade under the Korea International Trade Association said only six-point-one percent of a total of 179 South Korean respondents want to set up a business. 

Nearly 41 percent of 169 Chinese respondents showed a positive attitude toward starting a business. Only three-point-eight percent of Japanese respondents responded positively.
 
Around 31 percent of young South Koreans who responded positively towards launching a business said they want set up a restaurant. Around 20 percent of Chinese young people said they hope to start a business in an innovative area or in the IT sector. More than 84 percent of Chinese respondents said they are considering advancing into foreign countries.
