The South Korean main index recovered losses from the previous day, rising above the two-thousand level.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) on Tuesday gained 31-point-96 points, or one-point-60 percent, to close at two-thousand-23-point-93. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ climbed three-point-57 points, or zero-point-52 percent, to 691-point-95.
  
On the Seoul foreign exchange market, the local currency changed little, strengthening zero-point-one won against the greenback, to close at one-thousand-158 won.
