Goheung County in South Jeolla Province has signed an agreement to create an industrial complex specializing in space technology.

The county signed the agreement on Monday with the provincial government, SK Securities, Korea East-West Power Company and Yongjin Company.

Under the agreement, SK Securities and Yongjin will spend 15 billion won to create the industrial complex by June 2017 at the 150-thousand square meter site in Goheung.

The complex will house aerospace research and development facilities, a lignocellulosic biomass processing plant, and aerospace, materials, and drones factories.

The county plans to make the industrial complex a center for the country’s aerospace industry, by integrating a test center for aerospace components, a scientific rocket center, and aerospace research and development facilities.
