South Korea's third-quarter growth rate is relatively positive compared to other countries.
According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) growth rate statistics, South Korea's gross domestic product (GDP) grew one-point-two percent in the third quarter from the previous three months.
The South Korean economy grew less than one percent for five quarters in a row. It expanded zero-point-three percent in the second quarter, but recovered to the one-percent range for the first time in six quarters.
In the euro zone, GDP grew zero-point-three percent in the third quarter, down zero-point-one percentage points from the second quarter. Japan's economy contracted zero-point-two percentage points in the second as well as third quarters.
China grew one-point-eight percent in the third quarter, unchanged from its growth in the second quarter. The United States' July-September GDP rose two-point-one percent, down one-point-seven percentage points from its second-quarter growth.
