Demand for Air Transportation Surged Nearly 12% in October

Demand for air transportation surged nearly 12 percent year-on-year in October.
 
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Thursday, the number of passengers on domestic and international routes stood at roughly eight-point-three million last month, up eleven-point-nine percent from the same period last year.
 
The number of passengers on domestic flights grew 13-point-seven percent to some two-point-seven million in October. The number of passengers on international flights jumped eleven percent to around five-point-six million.  
 
Out of domestic flights, some two-point-four million passengers traveled on flights to Jeju Island, up 14-point-six percent from October of last year.
 
International travel to Japan, Oceania and Europe, meanwhile, grew of more than ten percent.
