IMD: S. Korea Near Bottom in Worker Motivation

A new study suggests South Korean workers are not motivated enough and looking overseas for better jobs.

According to the Switzerland-based International Institute for Management Development's World Talent Report 2015, South Korea ranked 54th in worker motivation among 61 countries.

South Korea scored four-point-64 out of ten, ranking near the bottom along with countries such as Slovenia and Argentina.

South Korea's brain drain score was three-point-98, placing 44th. It only ranked 37th in attracting foreign high-skilled people.

Experts say South Korea's brain drain problem has improved from the past, but more high-skilled people exit rather than enter the country due to a lack of desirable jobs.
