BOK: Nation's Terms of Trade Improved for 14th Straight Month

The Bank of Korea says South Korea's terms of trade improved for the 14th consecutive month in October.

The central bank said the terms-of-trade index for goods stood at 101-point-72, up more than 12 percent from the same period last year.

The figure was the highest to be posted since April 2010 and marked an upward trend for the 14th straight month.

The central bank assessed that the figure jumped after import prices saw sharper drops than export prices.

The net terms-of-trade index for goods is a measure of imports that can be bought with income from exports. It is calculated by dividing per-unit export price index by per-unit import price index.
