KCIF: Global Economy to Improve, Face Risks in 2016

The Korea Center for International Finance (KCIF) said that the global economy will improve next year thanks to rebounding emerging economies.

The center issued the forecast during a presentation session in Seoul Thursday, saying the global economy will post limited growth in the mid-three percent range next year.

While predicting what would be the first economic rebound in five years, the KCIF cautioned that next year will also see risk factors.

In particular, the center said the global economy will be burdened if a U.S. interest rate hike comes earlier than expected and results in the withdrawal of liquidity.

The center also said China’s recession in the real estate market, insolvent companies and financial uncertainty could become risks that weigh down the global economy.
