KOSPI Edges Up

South Korean shares edged up on Wednesday after declining the previous day due to wavering investor sentiment.
 
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) climbed zero-point-68 points, or zero-point-03 percent, to one-thousand-997-point-27.
 
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ rose ten-point-51 points, or one-point-60 percent, to close at 667-point-21. 
 
The stock market will open an hour later than usual on Thursday due to the nationwide college entrance exam. The market will open at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. 
 
On the Seoul foreign exchange market on Wednesday, the value of the local currency strengthened two won against the U.S. dollar, to close at one-thousand-154-point-nine won.
