S. Korean Chipmakers Increase Share of Global Mobile DRAM Market

South Korean chipmakers accounted for a record high 83-point-three percent of the world's mobile dynamic random-access memory, or DRAM, chip market in the third quarter.
 
According to industry tracker DRAMeXchange on Sunday, Samsung Electronics topped the list with a 56-point-nine percent share of the market by revenue while SK Hynix placed second with 26-point-four percent.
 
Their combined share rose one-point-eight percentage points from the previous quarter.
 
U.S.-based Micron Technology ranked third with a 15-point-three percent share, followed by Taiwan's Nanya Technology and Winbond Electronics.
