S. Korea Ranks High in Fiscal Health Among OECD Members

South Korea ranked high in fiscal health among members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The OECD assessed in its report “State of Public Finances” that the fiscal situations of most of its member nations have deteriorated since the 2008 global financial crisis.

However, the OECD said that South Korea does not need additional measures to improve its fiscal soundness as its fiscal conditions were in good shape even before the outbreak of the financial crisis.

South Korea is among eight OECD countries which do not need to take additional measures to improve their fiscal health. The eight nations include Australia, Luxembourg, Norway and the Switzerland.
