N. Korea Lifts Gaeseong Entry Ban on S. Korean Officials

North Korea has lifted its entry ban on two South Korean officials prevented from entering the inter-Korean Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

Ministry of Unification Spokesman Jeong Joon-hee said Friday in a regular media briefing that the North informed the South Thursday evening that it will withdraw the ban placed on the two Gaeseong Industrial District Management Committee officials.

On Tuesday, the North told the South that it would restrict their entry, saying the committee speaks only on behalf of the South Korean government while opposing the North's Central Guidance Bureau for Special Zone Development.
