Sales of Volkswagens in South Korea for October are estimated to have plummeted 70 percent from the average monthly sales following the German carmaker’s emissions rigging scandal.
 
Industry insiders said Wednesday that only around 940 Volkswagen vehicles were sold last month, or about 30 percent of the average monthly sales of the make in South Korea between January and September.
 
Volkswagen was the third most popular foreign automaker in South Korea in the first eight months of this year selling more than 24-thousand vehicles, trailing behind BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
