Science Ministry to Start Children's Program Funded by Google

The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning has said that it will launch a program on creative play for children at the Gwacheon National Science Museum with donations from the global tech firm Google.

The ministry explained the Google-funded program will allow children to experience science and technology while playing games or doing craft activities.

One part of the program is an interactive venue called the "Kids Maker Studio" which opened Friday. At the studio, children can try their hand at electric, electronic and information technologies while creating crafts.

The ministry added a two-thousand-square-meter large science experimental playground will open next year where children can learn about science and technology through building.

The budget for the program will come from a fund raised by Google's donation of one percent of its yearly profits.
