Employment Rate Of Older S. Korean Men 6th Highest in OECD

South Korea has ranked sixth among Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) member nations in terms of the employment rate of men aged 55 to 64.

In a recent survey, the OECD said the employment rate of South Korean men in the age group stood at 78 percent in the second quarter.

South Korean women in the same age bracket ranked 16th at 52-point-five percent, compared with the OECD average of 49-point-eight percent.

The OECD, however, said that despite the high employment rates, South Korea was offering many low quality jobs to its people, adding 49-point-five percent of the country’s employees aged 55 to 64 were part-time or temporary workers.
