N. Korean Red Cross Willing to Discuss Holding Regular Reunions

North Korea's Red Cross says it plans to consult with its South Korean counterpart about holding regular reunions and allowing letter exchanges between separated families.

Following a welcome dinner hosted by the North during reunions on Saturday, the North's Red Cross Chairman Ri Chung-bok told reporters that the two Koreas will discuss the issues after the current inter-Korean family reunions end on Monday.

Ri said he discussed various aspects with South Korea's Red Cross President Kim Sung-joo and he expects everything to go well in the future.

At the welcome dinner, Ri said it is the consistent position of the North to relieve the pain and suffering felt by separated families and to improve South-North relations.
