N. Korea States Its Consistent Stance in Improving Inter-Korean Relations

North Korea's Red Cross Chairman Ri Chung-bok says that North Korea has been consistent in its position that it seeks improvement in inter-Korean relations.

Ri made the remarks on Saturday during a welcome dinner hosted by the North on the first day of a second round of inter-Korean family reunions at the Mount Geumgang resort in North Korea.

The Red Cross chief said that the reunions are the first step to implementing the landmark inter-Korean deal reached in August, adding the reunions hold critical significance in improving inter-Korean relations.

In response, South Korea's Red Cross President Kim Sung-joo hoped the two sides would work to confirm the living status of all separated family members and reach a day when regular meetings and letter exchanges can be held.
