Pyongyang Expresses Willingness to Improve Ties

With the first round of family reunions coming to an end, North Korea has expressed willingness to stick to a recent landmark inter-Korean agreement and improve relations with South Korea.

The North's propaganda weekly Tongil Sinbo said that the latest family reunions were held in accordance with the inter-Korean agreement reached on August 25, adding that Pyongyang has a strong will to open up a new chapter in inter-Korean ties by fulfilling the agreement.

The weekly called for continued efforts to improve relations across the border, saying that the two Koreas should carry on with the spirit of reconciliation, based on the precious results of the recent family reunions.
