An annual survey of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) shows South Koreans are less satisfied with their lives than people of other OECD member states.
 
In the life-satisfaction category of the OECD Better Life Index, South Korea ranked 27th out of 34 member countries with five-point-80 points out of ten. The OECD average was six-point-six points.
 
South Koreans aged between 15 and 29 had a level of life satisfaction around one point higher than those aged 50 or more.
 
The report also found that children in South Korea spent 48 minutes on daily average with their parents, the shortest period of time among OECD states.
 
South Korea ranked ninth in terms of the rate of neglected people aged between 15 and 19 who don’t go to school, have jobs or are in training.
 
Meanwhile, South Korea came in second in terms of reading ability of people aged 15 or more and ranked first in computer-based problem solving.
