The prime minister has vowed to share South Korea’s technological advancements with developing countries.
In a speech marking the opening of the World Science and Technology Forum in Daejeon Monday, Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn made the pledge.
Promising to contribute the nation's science and technology to the global community, Hwang said South Korea will also expand science exchanges with developing countries.
The prime minister said it was very meaningful to discuss how to achieve sustainable growth and co-prosperity of both developed and developing countries through the forum. He explained that the event will also serve as an occasion for the nation to introduce its creative economy drive.
The World Science and Technology Forum kicked off the OECD Ministerial Meeting Daejeon 2015. The five-day gathering will see the participation of renowned international academics, including Nobel laureates, who will discuss ways to boost growth through scientific and technological innovation.
