The number of people with jobs has increased by more than 300-thousand on year in September as domestic consumption has been rebounding.
Statistics Korea said Wednesday that the number of people with jobs was 26-point-264 million last month, up 347-thousand from a year ago.
The increase in the number of new hires dipped to the 200-thousand range in April and August, but has recovered to above 300-thousand.
The employment rate of people between 15 and 64 was 66-point-one percent, up zero-point-four percentage points from a year ago. Forty-one-point-seven percent of those aged between 15 and 29 were employed, up one percentage point from last September.
The jobless rate remained unchanged from a year ago at three-point-two percent. But unemployment among young adults fell zero-point-six percentage points on year to seven-point-nine percent.
The unemployment rate, including those who are looking for jobs while working part time or are preparing for employment exams, was ten-point-eight percent.
