The temperature at Seorak Mountain in Gangwon Province fell as low as minus two-point-five degrees Celsius on Monday.
 
The Gangwon Regional Meteorological Administration said that as of 7 a.m. Monday, the morning low was minus two-point-five degrees at Seorak Mountain, three-point-eight degrees at Daegwallyeong mountain pass and seven-point-seven degrees in Chuncheon, all in Gangwon Province.
 
The weather administration said temperatures will begin to rise from Tuesday afternoon to resume average levels of previous years. But until Wednesday, the temperature difference between day and night will be more than ten degrees as temperatures fall in the evening due to radiative cooling, while rising during the daytime due to the warmth of the sun.
