S. Korean Maintenance Team to Visit North to Prepare for Family Reunions

A South Korean team of technicians will visit the North's Mount Geumgang resort for two days beginning Thursday to prepare for next month's family reunions.

The 32-member team comprising officials from the Ministry of Unification and technicians from Hyundai Asan, the operator of tours to Mount Geumgang, will begin the repair work following the Chuseok holiday.

Following Chuseok, some 50 to 60 technicians will work on the job everyday either commuting from the South or staying at the site.

Ministry of Unification Spokesman Jeong Joon-hee said at a regular briefing on Wednesday that maintenance will be completed by October 14.

The unification ministry had earlier dispatched a 14-member team to inspect the facilities.
