Civilian Group Sends 900-Thousand Anti-Pyongyang Leaflets

A civilian group has launched anti-Pyongyang leaflets from Paju, Gyeonggi Province near the inter-Korean border.

The group said it sent some 900-thousand leaflets attached to 60 large balloons denouncing the North Korean regime at around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

It said the balloons also carried about two-thousand single-yuan notes, radios, pantyhose and snacks.

The anti-Pyongyang organization said it sent the leaflets to inform North Korean residents of the North's realities and the need for democratization.

On Sunday, North Korean defectors' group Fighters for Free North Korea sent about 200-thousand leaflets from Paju condemning the North's moves to conduct a nuclear test and launch a long-distance rocket.
