N. Korean Mount Geumgang Resort Needs Repairs for Family Reunions

The Mount Geumgang resort in North Korea where family reunions will take place next month has been found to be in need of repairs.

A member of a task force who returned to the South Thursday after inspecting the resort said many facilities, including for water and electricity, need repairs as they haven't been used in one year and eight months since last February.

The official said the family reunion reception house needs the most repairs and that work will begin after plans are made with the Ministry of Unification.

The task force, composed of 14 officials from the Ministry of Unification and the resort owner Hyundai Asan, inspected the facilities, including the reception house and two hotels, on Wednesday and Thursday.
