N. Korea Engaged in 64 Provocations Against S. Korea Since 2010

The Defense Ministry unveiled on Thursday that North Korea engaged in 47 provocations at sea, 13 on land and four in the air during the past five years.
 
In material submitted to the National Assembly’s National Defense Committee, the ministry said the North violated the military demarcation line a total of eight times. The ministry added that the North actively began engaging in such trespassing from last year.
 
The ministry said that until 2013, North Korean patrol boats had violated the Northern Limit Line less than ten times a year. The ministry revealed that 13 violations occurred last year and ten this year.  
 
Since the Korean War Armistice Agreement was signed in 1953, North Korea has engaged in a total of 874 provocations against South Korea.
