N. Korea's Air Koryo Named World's Worst Airline for 4th Straight Year

North Korea’s Air Koryo has been named the world’s worst airliner for a fourth consecutive year.

The Voice of America reported Friday that the North’s state airliner was the only carrier to receive one star out of five in a survey of 600 companies worldwide by British aviation consultancy Skytrax.

Carriers were evaluated based on the maintenance of their aircraft, service in on-board and airport environments, and food, among other factors.

Skytrax did not go into detail of its assessment of Air Koryo, but said that an airliner receiving one-star has poor quality across the overall assessment criteria.

Among those receiving five stars were South Korea’s Asiana Airlines, China’s Hainan Airlines, Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA), and Cathay Pacific of Hong Kong.
