North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has expressed hope that the two Koreas will respect the agreement reached in the recent high-level talks and work to produce plentiful results.
The North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency reported Friday that Kim presented his assessment at a meeting of the Central Military Commission of the North’s ruling Workers’ Party.
The report quoted Kim as saying that the North took the lead in holding the high-level meeting and resolved a crisis that was heading towards a military collision, thus clearing the dark clouds of war and keeping peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
In addition, Kim reportedly said that the publishing of a joint press release following the talks was a landmark occasion that put the catastrophic inter-Korean relations on a track of reconciliation and trust.
The report also said that some members of the Central Military Commission were replaced during the meeting.
