One of the two North Korean delegates to the latest inter-Korean talks at the truce village has urged constructive efforts for the two Koreas' unification.
In an interview with the North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Thursday, Workers' Party Secretary Kim Yang-gon discussed the recent inter-Korean talks.
The point man on inter-Korean issues in Pyongyang said the two Koreas shouldn't stop at overcoming a crisis and move in a constructive direction toward the reunification.
While calling for the cherishing of the spirit of the agreement reached in the latest talks, Kim proposed that the two Koreas advance government-level dialogue and negotiations to resolve issues of mutual interest.
However, despite his delegation's expression of regret over the recent land mine injuries, Kim denied North Korea's involvement in the explosions, claiming that the two Koreas were mired in military tension based on a "groundless incident".
Kim also said the two sides should not have been entangled in an abnormal situation to begin with. He then urged both sides to maintain reason and restraint.
