South Korean U-15 football players will return home from North Korea Tuesday after competing in an international youth tournament.
 
Gyeonggi Province said Sunday that two South Korean teams, composed of middle school and high school students, arrived in Pyongyang on August 16 to participate in the U-15 tournament.
 
The two teams stopped their campaigns at the quarterfinals on Saturday.
 
The team with 27 players from Gyeonggi Province lost to Uzbekistan, while the team comprised of 28 from Gangwon Province fell to a North Korean team.
 
A total of eight teams from six countries have participated in the tournament. It was the first time in seven years Pyongyang invited a South Korean team for a youth football match.
