President Park Geun-hye has convened the National Security Council in the wake of a North Korean attack on South Korean loudspeakers in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). 

Presided over by President Park, the head of the top office's National Security Office, the presidential chief of staff, defense, foreign and unification ministers, and the director of the National Intelligence Service are said to have gathered at the presidential office at 6 p.m.
