As South Korea reactivated propaganda broadcasts across the border, North Korea has been seen preparing to fire at the South's loudspeaker facilities in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
A military official said Wednesday that North Korean soldiers are frequently observed leaving open the embrasures in their general outposts along the demarcation line.
With the North Korean artillery windows open, the South Korean military believes that the enemy is set to fire anti-aircraft machine guns.
A military official said the North is preparing to target the South Korean loudspeakers set up across the borders following North Korean land mine explosions in the south side of the DMZ.
It is said that the North has also beefed up the frequency and the intensity of its live fire drills on the front line.
The South Korean military is strengthening surveillance and patrols in the DMZ bracing for possible additional provocations by the North during the South Korea-U.S. joint military drill, the Ulchi Freedom Guardian, which will be held until August 28.
