Former First Lady Returns from N. Korea, No Meeting with Kim Jong-un

Former first lady Lee Hee-ho and her delegation returned to South Korea at around noon Saturday after a four-day visit to the North.

A South Korean government official confirmed that the widow of former President Kim Dae-jung was not able to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un during her visit

Kim also did not see Lee off at the airport as some pundits speculated could happen.

In a news conference on arrival, Lee said she attended her schedules in the North with a sense of duty to contribute to the spirit of the June 2000 inter-Korean summit.

She also said that as she visited an orphanage in Pyongyang, she thought the sorrow of the divided Korean Peninsula should not be passed on to the next generation.
