5 Vaccinations Recommended for Foreign Residents

The Korean Society of Infectious Diseases has recommended five vaccinations for foreigners residing in South Korea.

The five include Tdap which protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis, and vaccines for hepatitis A, chickenpox, Japanese encephalitis and MMR or measles, mumps and rubella.

The recommendation is aimed at protecting foreign residents against infectious epidemics that are unique to South Korea resulting from its geographical traits.

Meanwhile the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a nationwide warning on Japanese encephalitis on Thursday.
