N. Korea: Korean-Canadian Pastor Confesses to Subversive Plot

North Korea has held a press conference with Korean-Canadian pastor Lim Hyeon-soo who went incommunicado after visiting the North in January.

North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency said that during the press conference on Thursday Lim confessed to subversive plots against the North.

The report said Lim acknowledged that he insulted the North's highest dignity and systems, executed a plot to subvert the nation and tried to make the North into a religious state.

In response, Lim's family issued a statement expressing hope that Lim will return home as soon as possible.

Lim was arrested after entering the North through the Rason free trade zone in the northeastern part of North Korea at the end of January. Pyongyang informed the Canadian government in March of his detainment.
