South Korea has completed all preparations to replace the decades-long six-digit postal code with a five-digit code.

Korea Post said Monday that it is ready to switch its information system and postmen have already started delivering under the new zip code system from July.

The postal service also enhanced promotion of the five-digit code by attaching zip code stickers on buildings.

Information on the new zip code is available on Korea Post's Web site or in a smart device application.

The postal service expects the five-digit postal code will simplify the delivery routes and enable faster and more accurate mail delivery.
