South Korea has strongly condemned North Korea for making crude criticism against President Park Geun-hye.

During a regular news briefing on Monday, Unification Ministry Spokesman Jeong Joon-hee strongly denounced North Korea for slandering the South Korean government and the president through various organizations and media outlets.

The spokesman called on the North to immediately suspend its slandering that poses a threat to peace on the Korean Peninsula and the international community.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Joint National Organization of Working People of North Korea criticized Park's remarks on her policy on the North using crude expressions.
