Typhoon Nangka to Affect Korean Peninsula Friday

Typhoon Nangka is expected to affect the Korean Peninsula from Friday.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast Tuesday that the eleventh typhoon of the season will hit Japan on Friday before moving along the East Sea on Saturday.

The weather agency expects the typhoon, which is now heading towards Japan, to bring rain to the southern and eastern parts of Korea, including Jeju Island on Friday.

The tropical storm is also expected to bring strong winds and waves as high as five meters in the southern and eastern seas, putting residents and tourists in the coastal areas on alert.
