The regions of Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon Province on Friday were under a heat wave advisory that it is expected to last through Saturday.
 
Saturday's morning lows will range between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius, slightly higher than Friday. Afternoon highs are expected to reach 35 in Seoul, 33 in Daejeon and 31 in Gwangju and Daegu.
 
The weather service has advised children, the weak and the elderly to stay hydrated and out of the sun during peak hours.
 
From Sunday through Tuesday, the 9th typhoon of the year, Chan-hom, is forecast to bring rain and strong winds for most regions.
