Two Koreas to Discuss Wages at Gaeseong Industrial Complex

The South-North joint committee running the inter-Korean Gaeseong Industrial Complex will meet for the first time in almost a year.

The Ministry of Unification said Thursday that the sixth meeting of the joint committee will be held at the Gaeseong complex in the North on July 16.

The unification ministry said it expects to discuss a wide variety of pending issues, including the wages of North Korean laborers.

It said it will discuss details such as a list of the representatives and the schedule of the meeting through the joint committee's secretariat.

The unification ministry said it had been calling for the meeting to discuss wages and other issues to normalize operations at the industrial complex, adding that the North responded positively on Thursday.
