A team of local scientists has unveiled a cell differentiation process that is key to immune response.
 
The team led by Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology Professor Do Yoon-kyung said it discovered that CD8α− dendritic cells induce antigen-specific follicular helper T cells generating efficient humoral immune response.
 
With the latest finding, the team is assessed to have laid the foundation to boost vaccine efficiency and develop new autoimmunity treatments.
 
The team’s research results were published in the latest edition of Cell Reports, a sister magazine of Cell, which is one of the world’s top three journals.
