The North Korea-led International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) says that it may send a demonstration team to the World Taekwondo Championships to be held in 2017 in Muju, South Korea.
 
In a telephone interview with Voice of America (VOA) on Friday, an ITF official said that the North’s possible participation is in line with the principles on which the two Koreas’ Taekwondo organizations agreed.
 
The official, however, added that the ITF has not yet decided on the matter, saying a final decision will come after chiefs of the taekwondo organizations reach an official agreement.
 
South Korea’s World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and the North-led ITF signed a historic agreement in August last year in Nanjing, China to increase cooperation for the benefit of the sport.
