Koreas to Hold Additional Talks on Former First Lady's Visit to N. Korea

The two Koreas will hold additional working-level talks next week at the Gaeseong Industrial Complex to discuss the details of a proposed North Korea trip by former first lady Lee Hee-ho.

Director Kim Sung-jae of the Kim Dae-jung Peace Center told a local media outlet on Friday that the two sides agreed on Thursday to hold talks Monday morning.

Kim said the two sides could set a date for the proposed trip during the meeting as North Korean officials had promised to convey Lee’s wishes to North Korean authorities in the previous meeting on June 30.

During the June meeting, South Korean officials reportedly delivered Lee’s hope to visit the North in July for a four-day stay.

South Korea’s Unification Ministry said it will approve on Friday the South Korean officials’ plan to visit North Korea for working-level talks.
