S. Korea to Launch Restoration of Gyeongwon Railway Line

South Korea will launch a project to restore the disconnected Gyeongwon Railway Line, which linked Seoul and Wonsan in North Korea.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on Sunday that it will launch in late August the restoration project on the nine-point-three kilometer section of the South Korean line between Baengmagogi Station and Weoljeongri Station.

The ministry decided to pursue the restoration work on the 17-point-two kilometer section in North Korea after discussions with the North.

The ministry plans to complete the restoration project by 2017.
